Apply For A Grant

Community building never stops. People all over the world are getting more and more creative with ways to stay connected, and we want to know how you are doing it! Whether it's an existing activity that is moving to a digital platform, or if you have an entirely new idea on how to engage with other Tritons, TCI is here to support you! Mini grants shall be awarded to Student Organizations and/ or campus departments who work collaboratively to demonstrate their commitment to community and capacity building activities. Examples include:

  • Purchasing books for a book club
  • Paying speaker fees for an online Speaker Series
  • Helping with license fees for a virtual streaming or gaming party.

For inspiration, check out the virtual community building that is happening in each UCSD College.

Awards will range from $500-$2500. The funds can be used to develop/ implement a new activity or enhance an existing activity.

Eligibility:

Events/ activities should involve two or more students, staff, faculty, groups or departments.

  • The event/ activity must focus on one or more of the four core themes of the initiative (engagement, advocacy, dialogue, education).
  • The event/activity must take place between January 2020 and June 2022.
  • The event/activity must be open and advertised to the entire campus.

Priority will be given to those proposals that have the highest potential to advance one of the four themes and that are in alignment with the goals of the campus’s Plan for Inclusive Excellence and the campus’s Principles of Community.  Additional considerations include availability of funds and volume of requests.
